The range of product applications for MEDITE TRADE MDF includes joinery components, interior furniture fittings, exhibition stands and event furniture.
MEDITE TRADE is suitable for use in internal dry conditions as defined in EN622 parts 1 and 5 and conforms to EN13986.
Boards of this type are suitable for use in Hazard Class 1 of EN 335-3.
MEDITE TRADE retains the light tan colour of the wood fibre from which it is manufactured.
Cut or profiled edges of MEDITE TRADE should first be sanded with 150-240 grit, prior to painting. The recommended coating system for the edges is to seal, prime and topcoat with de-nibbing between coats to produce a smooth finish. The desired finish on the face can be achieved
by application of a base-coat and top-coat. If water-based coatings are used, it is important that forced drying or quick-drying systems be applied in order to maintain the surface quality.
If you are to cut the MDF or Ply yourself, we would always recommend a competent person cuts the panel and the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should always be worn. There harmful fibres are known to cause health issues so goggles, dust mask, ear defenders and gloves should be worn. We would recommend a respirator with a P2 Filter rating should be considered compared to a disposable dust mask. It is also recommended that any cutting is undertaken in a well-ventilated area.
